Not all coffee packs mean the same thing. Reading labels carefully can save you from paying premium prices for a mostly-chicory blend, or from accidentally buying an ultra-strong pure Robusta.
100% pure coffee
No additives. Everything in the pack is roasted, ground coffee. If it does not specify Arabica, Robusta or a blend, it is usually a blend of both.
Coffee-chicory blends
Look for two numbers: 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 53:47. The first number is coffee, the second chicory. Higher chicory means gentler on the stomach, milder in caffeine, and typically cheaper.
Instant vs ground
Instant coffee dissolves in water. Ground coffee needs a filter, French press, moka pot or espresso machine. A jar of instant will always be more concentrated by weight than a bag of ground coffee.
Speciality “flavoured” coffees
Some packs use natural flavourings (vanilla, hazelnut). Others use artificial flavourings and even sugar. Always read the ingredient list.
Our promise
Every Rare Locals pack lists the exact bean species, origin estate, roast profile, chicory percentage (if any) and roast date. Transparency, always.
